Blood Donation

The blood donation forum at VISAT has been established in the memory of Sajil Salim, a student of VISAT who tragically passed away in a road traffic accident. The ultimate aim is to be available and to provide blood of matching types as and when the need arises and whenever the college receives information or requests regarding the same. In association with the Government Medical College, Kottayam, IMA Cochin and the Red Cross Society of Muvattupuzha, a voluntary blood camp is conducted on a quarterly basis by the college. Both, the students and the staff are highly involved in the blood donation activities and a huge number of volunteers present themselves every year. The ultimate testimony to this is the fact that every time a camp is held, at least 50 units of blood are donated. The Blood Donation forum also actively responds whenever the need for blood donation arises so as to support students, staff and local citizens and provides them with the blood.

We believe that through this initiative, we have been able to reach out to the moral side of the students and helped them achieve a sense of responsibility and collective unity in times of crises, which has enabled a very positive response from their side. Every time a student or staff donates their blood, they are changing the world for the better, one step at a time and this is highly encouraged by the institution and the students are suitably recognized for their acts of kindness.
