Basic Science & Humanities
This department lays the foundation for different concepts of Engineering in their first year of college irrespective of the department. This department is an integral part of VISAT and introduces students to the fundamentals of science and humanities to facilitate a comprehensive development of student’s technical and professional competencies. It contributes to various development programs of the college in cooperation with other departments.
The different subjects that are explored by this department are: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Professional Communication, Management and Economics. Every faculty in this department has been selected after a stringent process involving various rounds because we understand the importance of laying a strong foundation so as to enable our students to be capable of grasping the challenging concepts of their curriculum in the succeeding years of college and afterwards.
Ultimately, the focus of this department is to provide students with a strong conceptual knowledge and understanding of the basics such that they observe the core subjects in a holistic manner and gain the most out of their studies.

MISSION The Department’s mission is to inculcate a strong aptitude for research and higher education and to motivate students to procure further knowledge without hesitance backed by a strong foundation and equip them with advanced communication skills.

This department successfully conducted a webinar on Mathematical Modelling which was held by Mr. Sayooj Aby George, a PhD scholar in the Mathematics Department on behalf of National Science Day.
